I began typing this entry with a goal to get it posted late on May 8, Mother’s Day here in the US. I wanted it to be out there when the clock struck midnight in Russia on May 9. That is my birthday, and many around the world predict Putin will use the day, which is also Victory Day in Russia, to officially declare war on Ukraine. It was posted just before midnight on May 9, which from this day forth, I proclaim to be Love Conquers All Day:)

Creating this site has been a labor of and for love. At this point however, I feel it necessary to point out the second word in the name of the site – Vincit – which means to Conquer. Throughout history as we know it, there have been periods of darkness that have lasted for LONG stretches of time, until someone or some people shone a light on and stood up to the forces behind the darkness. If we don’t conquer the hate and misinformation going around right now by standing up to it with all the kindness, courage and conviction we can, I am very concerned we will enter a long period of darkness, desolation and devolution – like in this video. Let’s not allow a powerful few to end all life on this planet in such an avoidable and horrific way.

It’s nerve-wracking to put myself and my thoughts out there due to the hateful energy being generated and perpetuated by people with a lot of power and prowess. Unlike Reagan era trickle-down economics, that hate has and continues to trickle down. And sideways, and upwards, and every which way. I’m going to try to take the advice of my mama though, and try to “Kill ’em with Kindness.” I struggle with this approach of late, and yet realize how important it is to try that approach first.

I’m begging you Vladimir Putin, please be that guy. Be the guy that PREVENTS WWIII. That guy who calls his troops back home and admits he was and continues to be just plain wrong to take what no longer belongs to his country and in the process murder thousands of innocent civilians, and cost the lives of soldiers on both sides.

You are wrong to throw the entire world into further turmoil and instability. Please be the guy that uses your vast resources and power to make the world a better place for your people, who I’m sure are suffering and scared too. Provide them a place they can be truly proud of because they are allowed to see for themselves what their government does for them and how it engages with the rest of the world through a free media. Let them be able to see that what their government is doing, IS indeed good for them and their country’s relations with other countries. Get and keep the grains and gas flowing to those who might otherwise freeze or starve to death. Please stop perpetuating this unwarranted war that will make Russia a pariah instead of a true world leader. I’m begging you right now, please be that guy. You are being a very Machiavellian ruler, basically a dictator, not a true leader that people follow because they respect you and want to, but because they fear how you will yield your power:( You can be better than that – FREE ALEXEI NAVALNY, and others who are being unjustly detained!!!
