Perspectives

I will start by offering an apology to America and the world. It took me way too long to find the courage and vulnerability to share my Perspectives on what have become very divisive social matters – Gender, Religion, and Race. If I don’t share them now though, I may not be allowed to before long – so here I go!

I really am sorry for not getting this stuff out there sooner. I’d hoped (and still do) to use this site, at least in part, to create dialogue that brings us back towards the center, and to each other. I thought if I could do that, it would help prevent Donald Trump (who is in fact acting like a dictator) from being reelected. I still hope to help us reconnect, but it’s like they say, “Hope for the Best, Plan for the Worst.” This administration scares the shit out of me.

Another reason for the delay is that while I have always voted Democrat, I guess I’m a moderate by today’s standards, and have been just as worried about attacks from my own side of the political spectrum as the other. There, I said it.

Please keep in mind, my perspective will be that of a female, Gen X, white, moderate Dem, from Georgia, USA, raised Southern Baptist, now agnostic. I’ve been dubbed country/hood, and it’s a pretty apt description. My dad was from Stone Mountain, GA, and my mom from Lewisburg, TN, but I grew up in the hood, a few miles from East Lake Golf Course in Decatur, GA (not the city proper). Not sure if or when I’ll be able open the site up for comments or for others to share their stories. I don’t have the resources to moderate the site properly at the moment, and frankly, people are too quick to comment before reflecting or doing simple research on their own. Without further ado.
